In 6 months of studying with Roberta, my spoken Italian has improved significantly. When I started, I had only the ability to speak basic sentences, and now I feel confident during daily conversations in a variety of situations. My favorite thing about lessons with Roberta is that it feels like I’m meeting a friend - I’m totally comfortable being myself, and we have interesting conversations on a variety of topics spanning philosophy, spirituality, health, and culture. Her level of English is basically native, so she knows how to properly translate any English idioms or phrases. Roberta is always prepared for our lessons with conversation starters, offers options like grammar drills and role-playing for real-life situations, and provides written corrections. She speaks enough to keep the conversation flowing and engage my listening skills while giving me the maximum opportunity to practice my speaking. I leave every conversation feeling satisfied and looking forward to the next one!

Ho scelto Roberta guardando il suo video di presentazione e dalla lezione di prova non ho più cambiato. Sono partito da una livello bassissimo, praticamente pari allo 0 e di lezione in lezione riesco a vedere il miglioramento. Ha un metodo super funzionale e una pronuncia fantastica. È un’insegnante ideale sia per chi come me parte da zero e sia per chi ha bisogno solo di fare conversazione per allenare il suo inglese. Consiglio al 100% Roberta come insegnante per tutti i livelli, è gentile, ma allo stesso tempo riesce a spronarti e a correggerti nel migliore dei modi. Per chiudere ci tengo a dire che: prima odiavo l’inglese, ora invece lo amo e non vedo l’ora di imparare sempre di più. Ah, quasi dimenticavo, lei ama il suo lavoro, quindi quello che riesce a trasmetterti ha tutto un altro sapore.

I've been using Roberta for approximately 3-4 months to learn Italian. When I started looking for a tutor, I was keen on someone that spoke English aswell as Italian, so they would appreciate the challenges English speakers have, aswell as being able to explain complex grammar well. With Roberta having spent many years in England, she was an obvious choice. In my experience, Roberta is an excellent teacher. Not only is she patient, she's always encouraging (it always feel uncomfortable speaking in a language you don't know, feeling like an idiot), however Roberta continues to push, positively encourage and support you through it. She understands your pace but still challenges you, whilst explains things in easy bite sizes. Thanks to Roberta, I'm able to understand alot of Italian and no doubt, will only improve over the coming months with her guidance.
