I am thoroughly enjoying my classes with Fumi and they have helped me so much with both my speaking and listening comprehension. Pitch accent has been difficult for me but Fumi is such an encouraging and effective teacher - I am looking forward to our next class.

Fumi Sensei, is very accomodating and flexible with her teaching methods. Even though I sign up for her pitch accent class, she adjusts it to my needs regarding questions on grammar and any other questiojns I may have about the language. As a beginner in Japanese she has also found ways to implement Japanese into our lessons even though it is taught in English. She prepares a dropbox file after the lesson to allow you to restudy the material afterwards so nothing is forgotten. I highly recommend Fumi, if you are looking for a teacher who is organized, adapatable, encouraging, and reinforces good practices for speaking Japanese.

Fumi Sensei is incredibly welcoming and patient. I have been learning Japanese for a few years and have since degraded due to a lack of keeping up with it, and she was more than welcoming to helping me learn new things as well as clean up my Japanese. I will absolutely be scheduling more in the future :)

Fumi sensei is a true professional and I am grateful for the opportunity to take lessons with her. Her calm reassuring voice, very deep knowledge of the language, and engaging personality really make the process enjoyable. After each lesson, she sends detailed notes and recordings which keep　me motivated and focused until our next meeting. I have followed her advice and started recording myself speaking and it is really starting to pay off! Fumi-Sensei is a gift in my life. I’m so blessed to work with someone with so much compassion and bilingual expertise guiding me. I had so much fun in our first session and can’t wait to meet again!

When I first started taking lessons with Fumi-sensei, it was really difficult for me to even hear the Japanese pitch accent. I still have a long way to go but now I am starting to not only hear it but am able to speak using some of the patterns. The learning environment in class is very encouraging so even though I have difficulty with some words or phrases I am motivated to keep trying!
