Grace

Every week, I genuinely look forward to my lesson with Grace. She has a straightforward, authentic, and humorous personality that brings a lot of life to each class. Grace offers incredible advice on prosody, vocabulary collocation, and conversational nuance—all of which I find invaluable. Her cultural and situational explanations are unlike anything I’ve experienced before. She speaks clearly and creates a comfortable environment that builds your confidence without ever pressuring you to speak before you’re ready. She trusts in your abilities and encourages you to try, helping you move forward without overthinking. Despite my initial struggles with speaking, I’ve noticed significant improvement in both my understanding and overall confidence in Japanese. More importantly, I’m now enjoying the learning journey much more than when I was studying on my own. Thank you, Grace—I truly appreciate your lessons, your method, and the motivation you bring to every session.

Grace is a really good teacher! She has amazing teaching methods and any pupil would be lucky to have her as a teacher. She really inspires me to learn and is much better than any of the language teachers I have had at my school. The lessons are fun, interactive, and include great materials. Grace herself is just so nice and polite, I can't wait for my Japanese learning journey to continue with her!

Grace is fantastic! Grace is a wonderful teacher, and I have really enjoyed our classes together! It has been super enjoyable learning Japanese with Grace. I feel like she does a great job teaching from where I am. The lessons feel like they have solid structure, the lessons build on each other, and Grace is able to adapt when I don't come to class super prepared. Can't say enough good things about Grace! Book her! I met with Grace several times over the course of a few weeks, as I attempted to "revive" my dormant Japanese in advance of a trip to Japan. Grace is outgoing, curious, and generally extremely easy and fun to talk to. Basically everything you want in a language tutor. Also I can say even though her country says China, she is indeed 100% Japanese native speaker. If you do happen to speak some Chinese, it's actually really great, because you have an extra language to reach for when asking for clarification, and often times the Chinese word is much closer to the Japanese word than say English. So if that is your language background, Grace makes even more sense to work with. Anyway, Grace is an amazing tutor, strongly recommend.

Grace is an excellent teacher; very detail oriented. She’s knowledgeable in both culture and linguistics. If you’re seeking mastery, I would highly recommend!
