Hi everyone! I'm Yurika. I'm from Nagasaki, Japan🇯🇵
I love traveling and living in other countries. I love meeting new people and getting to know different cultures. I've studied in the US when I was in my university, so I can speak in English as well. I studied American Military History in my university. Later I have worked as an international air freight forwarder for two years. I've been to 22 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia.etc. I'm currently learning Spanish. Let's have fun studying Japanese together!

I've been teaching Japanese on italki for 3+ years and I love it so much. Since I've been learning English and Spanish, I know how hard it is to learn other language. With my experiences, I realized the best way to improve is to learn with a native speaker and have fun with it. I would like to help you improve your Japanese whatever your level is. I'm currently studying to get professional Japanese teacher certificate.

I offer Japanese lessons and free talk lessons. I'm very relaxed and patient.
In Japanese lessons, you can tell me what you would like to learn with me like grammar, conversation and anything. I can make a lesson based on your needs. Students of any levels can take these lessons. In free talk lessons, you can have a conversation in Japanese with me. If you have a topic you want to talk about, please let me know, and if not, we can have free talk or I will give you a topic. See you in my lesson:)

I have been taking classes with Yurika for a while now and I’ve enjoyed every single lesson with her. As a teacher, Yurika is energetic, patient, and incredibly sweet, always making sure I understand what she is saying and giving me plenty of opportunities to speak and express myself - always willing to help me create correct sentences if I’m challenging myself beyond the level of Japanese I am comfortable with.
If I have a specific grammar point that I want to delve into, Yurika will prepare a lesson tailored towards that specific request. In case I don’t have any requests myself, she has plenty of ideas of what grammar and vocabulary I should learn next, always making sure to challenge me without going uncomfortably above my level. I always leave her lessons feeling like I’ve learned something new while having a lot of fun.
She speaks English well and can explain both vocabulary and grammar in English, when I do not understand the Japanese explanation.

She is very easy to talk to. I don't feel nervous when speaking Japanese and she is a great listener and very helpful with translations. I'm looking forward to her next lesson!
