I had lots of fun during my lesson! Teppei-Sensei made me excited to continue practicing and achieve my dream of talking to locals on my first trip to Japan. He’s able to adjust the casualness of the Japanese he teaches based on how well I already know Japanese people (not at all). I really appreciate that. Can’t wait for more lessons!

Teppei is a tremendous tutor and somebody who is comfortable with any level that you are at. He excels in making sure he feels like your teacher and a good friend. The hardest part of speaking a language you’re learning is to be comfortable making mistakes, but he encourages you do to so, just so you can practice the muscle memory of speaking what you’re learning. As soon as the lesson was over, it felt like it had just started and I already can’t wait to schedule my next one. If you want to practice any form of a conversation or even just small grammar points, his explanations and tips come across as very thorough and caring.

My lessons with Teppei have been great! The conversations are always enjoyable as he takes a keen interest in all sorts of things and he gives you the space to try and express yourself in Japanese as you're learning. Teppei is great at correcting errors, doing so without judgement, and without intervening too often to derail a conversation, I've learn a lot of useful phrases and words during my lessons. His English level is very high so 99% of the time he can give you a translation off the bat if you're searching for a word you don't know. More importantly the lessons are very enjoyable and a great way to practice speaking, would highly recommend!

My first lesson with Teppei was great. He helped me be able to explain what I wanted in better sentences, and made it comfortable to use casual Japanese. He pointed out when I slipped back into polite Japanese and it was good having someone to help keep me accountable. I appreciated it and will take more lessons.

I've been taking classes with Teppei-san for 3 months now with the goal of being able to have a conversation in Japanese, even if I'm on a beginner level. I am enjoying the classes a lot and I also can see my progress. Teppei-san is incredibly funny and comes up with a variety of interesting topics and useful vocabulary. He is also very patient and encouraging and makes sure that you have fun learning the language. I am very grateful to have him as a tutor and would definitely recommend taking his classes.
