I'm a TEFL-certified English teacher from the UK, now living in the USA.
I’ve been teaching on italki for over 10 years, helping students build real confidence and fluency through conversation.
My lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to your goals, whether you're learning for travel, work or everyday life.
I have a professional background in business, healthcare and law enforcement, so I enjoy working with people from all walks of life.
I love music, reading and travel, and I always enjoy the cultural exchange that comes from learning together.

I love learning languages myself and have made my fair share of mistakes, so I’m very patient and supportive.
Helping others grow in confidence and achieve their goals is something I genuinely enjoy.
I’ve worked with students from beginner to advanced levels and adapt my speaking style and topics to suit your needs.
My lessons include everyday expressions and colloquial English, so you get used to how the language is really spoken, alongside insights into British and American culture.
My aim is to create a relaxed space where you can speak freely and naturally, as if chatting with a friend while steadily improving your English. 我的課程內容與教學風格
My lessons are conversation based which I feel is the most enjoyable and effective way to improve your language skills. I encourage you to speak as much as possible so we can discover areas that need work, and I make sure to always correct vocabulary, pronunciation or grammar errors as we go along.
Besides being a dedicated professional teacher, I offer help with proof reading for CV's and motivation letters, academic work, personal statements etc, or just writing practice as part of our lessons.
I tailor my lessons to your interests and goals, so let me know if you have any special requests.

Great informal tutoring class! John discussed my learning goals and reasons for learning English with me. It was nice getting to know him! He suggested a plan on improving my English for future lessons and he gave me a feedback on my English after the lesson. He is calm, patient and caring and he supported me! It was nice to meet him today and I hope to have a lesson with him again soon!
