Hi! I’m Ryu from Japan and I am a native speaker of Japanese. I also speak English and Filipino fluently. I have lived in Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
I was a flight attendant and I love traveling, learning different languages, and listening to music. I have been learning Spanish and I love listening to Spanish / Latin American music. Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, K-Pop? TWICE.
I love to travel because I want to experience the unknown. It’s amazing how it makes us appreciate the opportunity and experience of a lifetime, while learning and having fun at the same time.

Attentive, fun, supportive. As a tutor, I want to be as flexible as possible to your learning needs. Someone that you can easily approach because you want to practice and be better. I have been learning languages my entire life so I know how it is to be a language learner. I am here for you when you want to learn something new, when you want to practice what you already know, and whenever you just feel like talking in a different language. Consistency is the key!

Flexible. It will be mostly my lessons will be mainly conversations. We can talk about anything under the sun. If you want to talk about a news article, your new favorite song lyrics, your favorite travel, what’s on your mind? No problem.
If needed, I can correct awkward sentences or wording, and suggest you a better way to say it or express it.
For beginners, we can start with the basics. A lot of basics and practices. The basics are very important and practice makes perfect. Please do not hesitate to mention if you have any request.

Ryu is a great teacher, I highly recommend him! He’s patient, and puts everything into context which makes it a lot easier to understand. And he teaches both the formal and informal version of vocabulary. I will continue taking classes with him!

Ryu San is one of the kindest teacher I have had,if you are looking for someone friendly,funny and professional Ruy san is the perfect option! Does not matter if you are in a low level he helped me a lot and always teaching me how to say the phrases in a more normal japanesse way.Definetly I will recommend Ryu whatever your level is.

Ryuさん、ありがとうございます！ It's my first attempt with 1-on-1 Japanese conversation/lesson, but I was able to try for a bit and gained some experience. Appreciate Ryuさん's guidance along the way, and I hope to improve more so I can better converse with him.
