Hello! I’m Lauri, a passionate and dedicated conversational English tutor with a knack for making learning both lively and engaging. Over the past three years, I’ve had the joy of helping students from diverse backgrounds gain confidence in their English speaking skills. My journey in teaching began after I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Baruch College, where I honed my ability to connect with people and communicate effectively. Currently, I embrace the digital nomad lifestyle, traveling while working remotely, which allows me the flexibility to invest quality time in my students. I try to do a mix of activities in each lesson, focusing on different skills. So I will usually do one exercise on grammar, one exercise on vocabulary, and one or two exercises on a particular business skill like meetings, e-mails, presenting, telephoning, negotiations, small talk, etc. I also talk to you about your work week so I can give you feedback on your sentence structure and pronunciation, and simply to give you some speaking time.我的教材

I had a very good trial lesson with Lauri. She was very friendly and patient. She explained everything clearly and helped me understand new things easily. I felt comfortable speaking with her, and she made the lesson fun and interesting. I really enjoyed the class and I learned a lot. I am excited to continue learning with Lauri!

Her English is native-level, and the price is reasonable.
But if you're looking for a slightly better teacher or want to learn something, she's clearly not the right person. She'd turn off her video camera a few minutes into the class (so she could distractedly talk to you while she was doing her own thing, unobserved). Her teaching style wasn't my style either; she'd interrupt me and correct me before I even started. (Some people might appreciate this kind of "immediate" correction, but I'm not one of them.)
