👋 Hi! I’m Liam. I’ve been a professional educator for over a decade. I hold a CELTA, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) from the UK. This means I’ve spent my career studying the science of learning.
🇦🇺/🇬🇧 I’m a native English speaker. I grew up in Australia and studied at university in the UK (Bath Spa University).
🛠️ My university research focused on formative assessment. This means I utilise a professional toolkit of evidence-based strategies to constantly assess your progress and adapt my teaching in real-time.
🗣️ My lessons are based on the communicative approach. My goal is to maximise your opportunities to speak. Why? Because fluency is a skill you only improve through practice.
🌍 I've taken over 230 (and counting) lessons as a student on italki (Portuguese and French), so I've been in your situation. Both professional training and my own experience with tutors have shown me which approaches truly build confidence.
