My name is Mikhail, but my friends call me Mike. I've been studying linguistics and foreign languages for many years, and I've been using the Italki platform for about four years now. I'm a native Russian speaker, born and raised in Orel—a city not far from Moscow, near Belgorod.
Currently, my wife and I live in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, where we enjoy nature, ride our bicycles, and work remotely as freelancers. In my free time, I play musical instruments such as the piano and guitar, and I also sing—a passion that comes from my years of playing in a rock band. I'm an avid language learner myself, achieving outstanding results in my IELTS examination with a band 8.0, which is a threshold to the C2 level. I know what approaches work best when learning foreign languages. My teaching style is mainly communicative. Being in a student's shoes, I can say that it is the best strategy to learn a foreign language—through communicative scenarios, role-plays, and gamification! I truly believe that even adult students can enthusiastically engage in language-based games that help improve memorization of studied vocabulary.
My classes always start with small talk, where students can share something that has happened during the week or discuss any news. We then smoothly transition into discussing topics that interest my students or begin a structured lesson, depending on their preferences and needs.我的教材

English TeacherI provided communication classes to Japanese students, helping them become familiar with Russian culture and people. My main goal was to create a welcoming speaking atmosphere where they could open up and overcome their speaking barriers.
