Hi! My name is Hope. I am from Reading, Pennsylvania in the United States. I have always had a passion for language learning. I began studying Spanish in school at the age of 13 and continued until I was 19. During this time, I also studied Mandarin Chinese for three years. When I’m not learning languages, I love to travel! I have been to China, Peru, Puerto Rico, and all over the continental U.S.A. I studied anthropology in college, so I also enjoy learning about different cultures. I am very interested in history and archaeology, too. My other hobbies include working out, going to the beach, and watching documentaries.我的教學經歷
When I was in Peru, I earned my TEFL certification. I subbed classes for the local English school, and taught English in a remote village outside of Cusco. This past year I have worked as an English teacher online. I taught Indonesian students of all ages: 5-year-olds to adults! I also worked with all fluency levels, from beginner to advanced. I can offer you conversation practice to help you sound like a native! I especially love to help people improve their pronunciation and use words that sound natural. While I do like to focus on teaching casual speech, I am currently working towards my Teaching Business English certificate! 我的課程內容與教學風格
Because I began studying foreign languages as a teenager, I understand how hard it is for teens and adults to become fluent in a new language. After years of trying different methods, I discovered that immersion is the best way to achieve fluency. I teach English in English. While traditional classes will explain a grammar rule, then expect you to use it, I do it backwards. I will show you plenty of examples, and let you discover what the rule is on your own. This way, English will become easier for you to remember, and harder to forget. I also believe that the student should talk more than the teacher, so I will give you plenty of time to speak. I will only talk when necessary.我的教材
