My name is Sofia and I originally come from Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a Modern Foreign Languages Educator, a certified TESOL / TEFL teacher and a graduate of the HAU (Dept of Translation/Linguistics), licensed by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. After many years of studying and attaining professional and academic qualifications, I commenced my professional teaching career in my home country. For 25 years I worked as a full time teacher of English and Greek, tutoring both children and adults, providing both online and face-to-face classes according to the needs of my students. Now, based in the UK, I continue to provide the same educational services to children and adults.我的教學經歷
As a teacher with 25 years professional experience I continuously strive to build rapport with my students, creating a trusting atmosphere and paying constant attention to individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I offer a tailored learning experience in which the lesson is a dynamic and interactive process. I am very proud of my students and I adore my job. It always makes me very happy to see them making progress, constantly advancing in their understanding of the language. 我的課程內容與教學風格
I use several strategies to learn about students' individuaI backgrounds, goals and needs. In my current teaching role, I am often asked to provide teaching programmes focused on Greece's culture, civilization, Ancient and Modern History, geography, customs, societal values and traditions. My lessons focus on: Reading and Translation Texts, Speaking and Listening Activities based on multiple and colourful material with various topics and questions, Grammar, Homeworks, Review Tests, Assignments.

I have no doubts that Sofia is the best teacher here on italki. I'm also a teacher myself (music). She's very professional, and she knows how to teach the language extremely well. I wouldn't be at the level that I'm at (although I still have a lot of work to do!) if it weren't for her. Thankfully, I don't have to be in Greece to get better at Greek! Thanks Sofia! :-)

Lovely first lesson with Sofia today! Materials used in the lesson were sent in advance and the plan for the day was discussed at the beginning of the lesson. Everything was very organized and clear!
