Namaste! I am Sanchita from Lucknow, a city in North India with a rich and colorful history and a lovely, syncretic culture. I am a linguaphile, storyteller, ex-journo, and teacher with 15 years of experience in Hindi & English communication. I teach Hindi & English at all levels. I believe learning a language is like opening the door to a new, rich cultural experience. It can’t be complete without understanding the socio-cultural contexts in which a language has grown and evolved. I am currently learning several languages. I am also a published author. My short stories & articles have been published in Hindustan Times (newspaper), TES Orbit (magazine), Spark (online magazine).我的教學經歷
My journey as a teacher started with my job at the Institute for Career Studies in 2020. I trained Grade 10, 11 and 12 students to prepare for university entrance tests. I mentored them, helping them improve their communication skills and learn how to give their best in group discussions & interviews. Later, in June 2022, while still working at my full-time job, I joined the Duolingo Global Ambassador community as a teacher. I took classes during my free time and hosted regular sessions for attendees from Europe and the US – receiving a solid 5-star rating. The rich cultural exchange and global exposure that I gained in these classes, prompted me to make this my permanent vocation.我的課程內容與教學風格
I like partnering with my students as a friend. My sessions are conducted in an environment of open & two-way communication, keeping in view the learning pace and convenience of each student. I encourage them to ask questions – not just about grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation or other aspects of the language, but also about India – its ancient heritage, cultural wealth, rich diversity, people, topography, history, and place in the modern world. I regularly seek feedback and suggestions from students to tweak my teaching style, if required, and customize the lesson plan to best suit their needs. I use a variety of formats – storytelling, videos, presentations, etc. – to deliver my lessons.我的教材

I learn so much in every lesson with Sanchita ji! She makes every class interesting with thoughtfully-designed lessons on the ins & outs of Hindi grammar. Sanchita ji also prepares a variety of materials like short films and news articles that we can discuss together (which are always useful in practicing the grammar that we have recently covered)!

Great help with a story from a book I bought in India, that I had I transcripted from Devnagari and tried to translate, which was a good exercise, Sanchita explained the grammar, sometimes difficult in the story which helped me translating the story better. Then I got some grammar exercises, and definitely understand the points better now having worked on them, made mistakes, and got the explanation for them - when to add the pronoun versus when it is not necessary + how to conjugate the verbs in the first and second parts of the sentence - thank you so much Sanchita!

Got my grammar exercises corrected, very helpful, I memorize better when I have made the mistakes first then get the explanation for the corrected answer so fruitful lesson! Then additional grammar lesson, looking forward to receiving my homework :) Sanchita has a very good way to explain grammar concepts, now the practice will do the rest ! Thank you so much!
