Hello! I'm Jessica Rebekah, born and raised in South Africa and now living in New Zealand since 2011. I love teaching, and have been teaching on italki since 2018. It makes me happy to see people improving their English!
I have also taught myself Hebrew so I can completely understand what it is like to learn a foreign language. It's taken a lot of dedication and time, but I have experienced a lot of joy and satisfaction in my language learning journey, and that is how it should be.我的教學經歷
I have been helping people with English online around the world since 2014 (and on italki since 2018) focusing on conversational, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and reading skills. I have a TEFL certificate (Teaching English to Foreign Learners) and IELTS speaking certificate.
Learning English should be enjoyable. There may be days when you might feel discouraged or unmotivated, but that should never stop you from achieving your dream.
Important to note - I teach my students with respect and courtesy and appreciate it when they treat me the same.
I believe in teaching you to expand your vocabulary and communicate appropriately in English so please no swearing or dirty words. 我的課程內容與教學風格
Based on what is best for each of my students I use a variety of teaching methods, materials, and personal experience.
Every person learns differently and is gifted in their own unique ways so whether you are a fast or slow learner if you're determined, you will learn! I'm patient and understanding with my students.
In all of my lessons, there will be grammar and pronunciation corrections - It's okay to make mistakes because that is part of learning, but we don't want to create bad habits.
I like to understand my students' strengths and weaknesses so that I can help you with your language needs.
The best way to improve your skills is to practice. Practice makes a HUGE difference!我的教材
