I'm Matt, a retired Manager with professional certifications from CMI and ILM and a TEFL qualification. I bring over 16 years of online teaching experience, including 11 successful years on Italki, where I've delivered more than 15,000 lessons. I specialise in business English, grammar, conversation practice, and exam preparation for TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE, KET, PET, and DET. I'm passionate about helping my students achieve their goals, whether excelling in exams, studying abroad, or preparing for an exciting new chapter in a different country. Really enjoyed today's class! Allan shared a list of questions with me before the session, which gave me time to revisit the topic and prepare my thoughts. During the lesson, we dove into the subject and I had plenty of space to practice explaining my understanding. We had a great back-and-forth sharing thoughts on a few interesting issues, and I felt much more comfortable speaking English throughout. Thank you so much for another helpful lesson 🙏

Allen is an excellent teacher. He is very professional, patient, and supportive. The lesson was extremely helpful and enjoyable. He explained things very clearly and encouraged me to speak more, which made me feel much more confident. He also shared very useful IELTS materials after class. I learned a lot from this lesson and would highly recommend him to anyone preparing for IELTS.

It had been a while since my last lesson, but catching up with Allan was incredibly easy from the start. I haven't had many chances to practice my English lately, so I really appreciated the opportunity to get back into it. Allan is an attentive listener; he corrects my mistakes in a very calm and kind way, which makes me feel comfortable. Highly recommended if you need a supportive and kind tutor to practice speaking.
