I specialize in helping beginners to advanced learners build real, lasting Japanese skills—especially for daily conversation, travel, and long-term progress.
I hold a Master’s in Applied Linguistics (Japanese) and a Graduate Diploma in Education, with 15+ years of teaching experience (5 years in Melbourne schools + 10+ years on italki).
Over 70% of my students continue for 2+ years because my lessons are structured, personalized, and designed to help you actually use Japanese in real life.

I adapt my lessons to your level and goals, and we can use both English and Japanese depending on your needs.
For beginners to intermediate students, I use structured materials such as Genki, An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese, and Tobira, combined with original worksheets and slides to make learning clear and engaging.
For advanced learners, I can design lessons based on your interests, such as news articles, books, or conversation practice.
I can provide homework to help you review what we learned, and we will go over it together in the next lesson so you can improve step by step.

In my lessons, you will actively practice speaking by creating your own sentences in Japanese.
I will help you understand grammar and vocabulary clearly, so you can use them in real conversations.
