Hi, my name is Sarah, and I’m a Korean tutor on italki. I am a Korean native speaker and I’ve lived in Seoul, Ulsan, and Incheon. I studied in Japan for my degree and also learned Mandarin for a year. Now, I’m in Korea and passionate about helping students learn my native language.
I taught myself English through speaking practice, so I believe that speaking is key to improving language skills. ✈️📚

I’m a Korean teacher on italki. I have experience tutoring Korean to English and Japanese speakers, helping students from the very beginning stages of learning. I’ve also supported students preparing to study in Japan and have worked in trading, translation, administration, and public service roles, assisting English and Japanese speakers.
I believe that speaking is the key to learning any language. so, my lessons focus on practical, conversational Korean to help you build confidence and fluency. I keep my classes fun, engaging, and tailored to your needs, so you can enjoy the learning process while making real progress. 我的課程內容與教學風格
My classes are personalized for each student. For absolute beginners, we’ll start with a textbook, and I’ll encourage you to create simple sentences. For beginner, intermediate or advanced learners,
I give you questions, and prefer to develop sentences based on what you want to express, as it makes learning more memorable. If you try to create your own sentences, it can significantly boost your progress.

I just had my first ever Korean lesson with Sarah 선생님 and it was so much fun! She’s super nice and bubbly, which made me feel really comfortable right away. I liked how she gently corrected my mistakes without making me feel nervous, and she explained everything really clearly. I also loved that she could explain things in both Japanese and English, which helped me really understand new terms and concepts. I'm looking forward to future classes with her!

The lesson with Sarah was wonderful! She is always very well prepared, encouraging, supportive, empathetic, and lots of fun to talk to! She is very wise and can speak English very well, especially when I need something explained in detail, although she only speaks English as a last resort, which I think is absolutely awesome about her!
