David Burtscher

David is an awesome tutor! Our sessions are more casual conversations because I would like to learn real-life conversations. He always has some ideas/topics to get the lessons started, then the topics flow from there. He is really patient, as I like to write down my ideas. He also writes out things that he notices I am struggling with. He checks-in at the end of each lesson to allow me to ask questions and to ensure the lessons are meeting my expectations. Looking forward to my next lesson!

David is a brilliant, super helpful and kind person. Time flew by with him, didn't even understand in depth. Thank you!

Trotz meiner schlechten Internetverbindung (ich arbeite auf einem Schiff) war David sehr geduldig und verständnisvoll. Der Unterricht war klar, motivierend und gut strukturiert. Vielen Dank!

The worst German teacher I have ever met at italki since I study German for more than 3 years. First, David has a very strong and hard to understand accent (because of his Alemannic dialect) when he speaks German, it's very different to Standard German (Hochdeutsch) , that's why I am doubt if he really belongs to a truly native German speaker based on his terrible speaking, even he is a Austrian. Second, he has less of general knowledge, he can't even answer some simple questions in the article, not only related to German but also others, but he showed he knows it and just waste time to think and finally gave me the wrong or ambiguous answer, for me this is even worse. I finally canceled the package and this's what he answered: ''Honestly that didn't surprise me at all, and I'm actually glad you want to end the lessons. I didn't feel comfortable playing the all-knowing person with every stupid question you asked. So feel free to try your luck with someone else, just not me. Bye!''
