Hello, I am Iyo! I was born and raised in Japan. I have been living in the U.S. for over four years. I have also lived in Australia for two years. I have been studying English since I was 13 years old and I am still learning. I understand how language learners feel and know how to keep them motivated! Many people help and support me even when I have trouble with difficult English words. I would like to give back and help and support everyone who wants to learn Japanese and is interested in traveling to Japan and learning about Japanese Culture.我的教學經歷
I completed a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course and the Japanese language teaching competency course as well. I have experience teaching Japanese to kids, and adults both in group lesson and individual courses. This has helped me to understand and adjust to different learning styles and helped me to identify the needs of different students. I will encourage and motivate you and you can know that it is ok to make mistakes! There is no judgement in my classroom, this is all a part of the learning process. My lessons are simple, unique, bright and fun! I will teach the Japanese language the way that Japanese natives speak and with simple English. This way you can fully understand what is being taught in your lesson. The early lessons we will use English but as we progress more we will use less English. As a beginner you don’t know much, if any Japanese so I will use English to establish a good foundation and understanding of the basics. You will also be involved in many speaking activities which will allow you to speak Japanese as much as possible. We will also learn how to write in Japanese but that is mostly for homework with a quick review for each lesson.我的教材

I have been studying Japanese since July 2025, and Iyo is my first and only Japanese teacher. I have a lot of experience studying foreign languages. During lessons with Iyo, I have to think every second—there are no pauses—and I really appreciate that.

Iyo-sensei is so much fun to talk to. She is energetic, kind, and patient. Talking with her gives me the much needed speaking and listening practice I don’t usually get when I’m self studying. She guides me very well when I’m trying to think of words and is a great teacher. I can’t wait for more lessons with her.

Iyo-sensei is a wonderful and patient teacher! We always have such engaging conversations which really challenges me to use a wide variety of words and grammar. She encourages whenever I have to stop and think before speaking. I truly look forward to speaking with her every week because I know I’m going to walk away from our lesson more confident in my Japanese.
