She adapts each lesson to my goals and interests, helping me move past a plateau and communicate more freely about complex topics. I love Dana. She is the perfect Hebrew teacher for me. I’m so happy I booked a lesson with her – a decision I don’t regret! I’ve only had three lessons with her so far, but I see myself sticking with Dana for as long as it takes for me to attain absolute fluency in Hebrew; so basically a couple of years. She is very knowledgeable about the Tanakh (i.e. the Old Testament) which is the primary reason why I’m learning Hebrew. She is also very funny and extremely intelligent. Dana’s teaching style is exemplary. Being a polyglot and an author, she has a profound love for words and languages as well as a unique ability to ascertain similarities between words, leading you on a Hebrew treasure hunt in every lesson! If you appreciate a proficient and kind-hearted teacher who emphasizes structure while also adapting to the student’s needs, then Dana is the one for you. I enjoy my Hebrew lessons very much. Being a teacher myself, in English and German, I know something about teaching a language. Still I'm astonished by the way Dana teaches. She is very much herself, has a great understanding of both Bibilical as colloquial Hebrew and know how to motivate me to learn more, not just about the language itself but also of Jewish culture and mindset. The way she brings etymology into each lesson is very motivating also, because it gives me an insight in the way the words were formed and how words are connected to each other, especially the root letters in verbs you can find in nouns and adverbs that have the same root letters. She likes to teach a lot in each lesson, without going to quick and whenever you have a question or face some kind of difficulty she is always patient and caring. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!
