Hi there! I'm Nikki, 31 years old, born and raised in the Netherlands but living in Istanbul, Turkey with my husband and two year old. Being an expat myself I know the challenges that come with learning a new language. This and raising my daughter bilingually is where my interest to teach the Dutch language and culture comes from.
Dutch is my native language but I speak fluent English and Turkish. I also know a little Bulgarian from when I was living there for a year.
I'm an ex professional dancer and dance teacher and I am still active as a web designer and pilates instructor. I love people and culture having lived abroad for over 10 years now and hope to meet you soon in class!我的教學經歷
I'm an experienced teacher on- and offline, in private classes and with (big) groups, and teaching ages ranging from 5 to 75. I am very patient and understanding but I can also motivate and keep you accountable to make sure you reach your goals. As a teacher/tutor I'm there for you and your specific needs. That might be for conversation practice, you might need help understanding specific grammar, you might need help preparing for an exam, you name it - I'm here for it all!我的課程內容與教學風格
Everyone’s situation and motivation for learning Dutch is different, everyone's background and level is different. And also everyone's way of learning and affinity with languages is different. I tailor my classes to your needs and goals.
My classes are a save space where I encourage and celebrate your mistakes! It is important to me to make learning Dutch a fun and an enjoyable experience for you. As a native Dutch speaker I can help you with pronounciation and to not sound too 'textbook'. To help you feel confident when you speak the Dutch language.
The subject of our classes can be anything from grammar to vocabulary, from exam prep to cultural integration. I'm here to help YOU!我的教材

Nikki is a great help in our journey to learning Dutch! My husband and I take the class together which is both economical and fun, we are glad we found a teacher that welcomes this. She has an engaging approach and mixes the lessons with lots of variety to keep things interesting. The homework also gets us to start conversations in Dutch in the real world which helps us get out of our shells. We are challenged in Nikki's classes but always met with positive encouragement.
