After taking 70 lessons with Kaoru-sensei, I can confidently say she is an amazing teacher, and I hope to continue learning with her for a long time. In my opinion, one of the most important parts of learning a language is keeping it fun and staying motivated. That is exactly what I appreciate most about my lessons with Kaoru-sensei. She is incredibly easy to talk to, asks thoughtful questions, and is genuinely interested in what you have to say. She patiently lets you finish your sentences and knows exactly which mistakes to correct. Enough to learn something new, but never so much that it interrupts the flow of conversation. As your Japanese improves, she naturally adjusts the speed of her speech to match your level. What impresses me most is that her enthusiasm has never changed. No matter how much I struggle or make mistakes, I always leave each lesson feeling relaxed and motivated to keep improving. Finally, I think her lesson fees are far too low for the quality she provides.

Kaoru is incredibly kind and cheerful, creating a very friendly atmosphere and always having some topic to talk about on hand. She allows me the time to think when I need it and gives hints to help me articulate my thoughts. At the end of each lesson, she also provides a quick summary of the most important mistakes I made along the way and reserves time for any Japanese-related questions I might have. Highly recommended! ^^

I was really tired today, and yet Kaoru: かおるさん brought the energy to our class and made it really fun. We also went over a very difficult grammar point, and she was able to come up with original sentences that were not in the book to help me understand. I really appreciate her as a teacher. I am very excited to continue our journey through Genki 1 and eventually Genki 2 as well.

Kaoru Sensei is helping me craft a Japanese alter-ego so I can pass as a native on my next trip. I’m learning how to describe deep emotions, subtle textures, and niche music vibes—mostly so I can sound infinitely more interesting in Japanese than I am in English. 11/10 ヤバ！Absolute legend 👑 P.S.
