I love helping students grow from beginners into confident speakers. With over 10 years of experience teaching music to children in Japan, homeschooling my own trilingual child, and some years of teaching Japanese online while living abroad, I design lessons that are fun, creative, and personalized just for you.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me growing vegetables and flowers or cooking something tasty. 🥑我的教學經歷
My students have created their own manga, made YouTube videos in Japanese, and even traveled to Japan. One of them achieved his dream of seeing his favorite band live in Tokyo! Watching my students grow and reach their goals makes me so proud. 我的課程內容與教學風格
In my lessons, I always start with greetings and a short warm-up chat. We’ll usually practice saying the date, day of the week, and time, and talk a little about the weather. I also like to ask how your day has been and what you’ve been up to.
After that, we usually do a simple role play, and I’ll explain useful grammar points along the way. If you enjoy music, we can even sing Japanese songs together!
I mainly use my own materials and online resources to make each lesson personalized. But if you prefer to study with a textbook, we can use Japanese from Zero!
My goal is to make every lesson fun, relaxed, and focused on helping you speak Japanese confidently and naturally.我的教材

I had the pleasure of having my first lesson on italki with Sumiko. She was incredibly friendly, had brilliant English and did a great job of settling my nerves even though I was super nervous trying a 1 on 1 lesson / speaking for the first time.
