IELTS Examiner and Teacher TrainerDuring my career at the British Council, I had a variety of different jobs in Hong Kong, Cairo and Kuala Lumpur. I worked as an IELTS examiner in many different countries including China. I also worked for the British Council's exams department, as a teacher trainer and as a corporate trainer.

Joe helped me greatly before my IELTS exam. Instead of same old tips and tricks, he reminded me that the purpose of the exam is the way to assess communication in English, therefore it would be better to avoid anything that makes me hard to understand -- such as trying to include complex words I actually don't know... I wish I met him way earlier in the process.

I spent 8 hours in Joe’s classes. He’s a fantastic teacher. I practised IELTS with him, especially the speaking and writing part. Joe asked your plans and prepared well before classes. He would send you the materials you need in advance. As a former IELTS examiner, he gave really useful advices, such as the structure and the words. He pointed out my mistakes both in grammar and vocabulary, and told me how to improve them. He encouraged me a lot. Highly recommend Joe if you are preparing for the IELTS.

I had a class with Joe and it was conducted like a mini mock test. Joe, as a former IELTS examiner, gave me comments on how I should approach my target scores. He also sent me a message outlining how the lessons would be structured if I decide to take more sessions. Since he used to be an examiner, I found him very reliable, and it helped me understand my weak areas more clearly.
