Hi! I'm Yuko.
I love traveling and enjoy meeting people worldwide🌎
I've visited Vietnam, China, the UK, Switzerland, France and more for work and vacation🇻🇳🇨🇳🇬🇧🇨🇭🇫🇷
I'm also learning Spanish as a third language🇪🇸
My hobbies are cooking and playing the piano🥘🎹
I'm a mom of two boys (ages 12&7)👬
I studied in California (the US) for 4 years when I was a student🇺🇸👩🎓
I majored in liberal arts and ethnomusicology, learning about the link between language, culture and music📚🎵
After returning, I've worked in translation and music production💻
I currently work as a freelance Japanese teacher and web editor/writer🇯🇵✨

As your Japanese community tutor, I use my international experience and professional background to structure effective lessons.
I am communicative, patient, and responsible, and I genuinely love connecting with people!
I have volunteer teaching experience (including piano), and I'm skilled at creating a friendly, relaxed lesson space.

Had an awesome trial lesson with Yuko. She was so patient when I had some tech issues at the start and made sure I felt ready to begin. We talked about my level and goals to create a good plan. I loved the free talk time at the end—I got to practice a lot! Her lessons are creative and easy to understand. I’d definitely recommend her!

Very warm and welcoming teacher. Very patient as well, even in trial lesson. I learned a lot in just one lesson. She encourages me to speak in Japanese and also explain the things that I don't understand. We went a bit overtime but she just let me continue, which was very nice of her. I would definitely recommend her.
