Lessons with Sana-sensei are continuing to go really well. We've been very briefly reviewing grammar concepts (as needed) from the first half of Genki 1, but working primarily on my speaking and listening skills since that's where I'm struggling.
Conversation practice with Sana-sensei is a lot of fun, not scary and intimidating like I've found attempting to speak Japanese in the past. I also have to say, Sana-sensei has been _such_ a good sport about all the weirdness I'm throwing at her in response to "simple" ice breaker questions. I've decided I need to memorize how to say "It's complicated" (fukuzatsu desu), because: A) my life is, in fact, pretty complicated, and B) I'm really challenging her with how to translate things that don't have direct Japanese parallels, like university after degrees and what the appropriate choice of counter would be for multiple university majors.
