Hi my name is Emily, and I am from England and Japan.
I have a passion for teaching languages and exploring a broad range of subjects with students during lessons. I love to learn new things through conversations with different people from all over the world.
I studied Fine Art and History of Art at Goldsmiths University of London and received a First Class degree. Since then, as well as teaching English, I have been working in the arts and enjoying my other interests in cooking, gardening, reading, and filmmaking.

I believe that to really immerse yourself in a new language, it's important to be able to talk fluently, with confidence about the things that matter most to oneself. Therefore, I try to build up areas of confidence in topics that students are passionate about, and in turn this impacts their overall fluency and confidence.
Being a passionate language learner myself, I understand the anxiety that learners can face in making mistakes or lacking confidence. However, I focus on creating a friendly and calm learning environment where learners are encouraged to speak freely.我的課程內容與教學風格
- I have been TEFL certified since 2023, and follow the TEFL teaching method.
- I like to structure my lessons along a particular theme and set homework assignments where appropriate.
- I focus on natural conversation, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
- Additionally, I like to use reading as a tool to improve fluency and encourage students to bring texts to lessons that interest them.
- I like to bring clips from films and TV and music to my lessons
- I also specialise in speaking in an artistic context and help artists to find ways to express themselves through words.
- I try to make my lessons as fun as possible and include games to help with learning.我的教材
