こんにちは～, 私の名前はHiroと言います。I was born in Hiroshima and have lived in Tokyo for over 30 years. Right now, I’m based in Portugal.
I'm friendly, easy to talk to, and I love helping people enjoy speaking Japanese in a relaxed and natural way.
In my class, mistakes are always welcome — they’re part of the learning process! Whether you're looking to build fluency, learn native expressions, improve your pronunciation, or understand Japanese culture and business etiquette, I’m here to support you:)
Outside of teaching, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, going to the beach, BBQs, and music festivals. I even try surfing sometimes.

I specialize in conversation practice for intermediate to advanced learners who want more opportunities to speak, get used to natural expressions, and improve their pronunciation.
My approach is relaxed and flexible. I'm not here to give you tests or drills — I'm here to help you enjoy speaking, feel comfortable making mistakes, and guide you toward more natural and fluent Japanese.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked for over 10 years in both Japanese and American companies. This experience allows me to offer insights into Japanese work culture, business communication, and even interview preparation if you're interested.

My lessons focus on real, interactive conversation. I don’t use fixed textbooks or materials — instead, we’ll have natural, free-flowing conversations based on your goals, interests, and learning style. I can suggest topics if you’re not sure what to talk about, or you can bring your own!
Each lesson is customized to fit your needs. You’ll do most of the talking, and I’ll actively engage, ask follow-up questions, and support you by suggesting more natural expressions, correcting pronunciation, and helping you choose the best words or phrases when needed.
After the lesson, I’ll send you a short note with the key corrections and suggestions we covered.

Great for conversation practice. My grammar is not perfect but Sensei will pick out a sentence that I'm having a hard time expressing with and we figure out the right way to say in Japanese :)

I had my second class with Hiro San and it was a really great conversation practice, talking about different topics in a free flow conversation. he's very kind and easy to talk to, asks many questions to help you speak and provides lots of feedback and suggestions on how to sound more native. I really recommend his lessons to anyone looking to level up their conversation skills

Hiro San has been helping me polish and improve my vocabulary, pointing out ways to say certain ideas or expressions in a more precise way and always gives me feedback on the class and my vocabulary. he's a great conversation partner who is genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say. great energy and a relaxed learning environment, highly recommend!
