Offered invaluable advice, extremely generously worked through an assessment of my current level despite me coming into her class with a last-minute and rather unusual (and unusually rusty, after years of not speaking Japanese) language goal, and kindly guided me through potential approaches to learning and structuring my education going forward. Also very ably explained things in both Japanese and, when my vocabulary failed me, English, and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I had a great time talking with Kana-sensei! She showed me some really cool places in Mexico like beautiful churches and a coffee museum! I showed her a few of my work’s buildings, like the glass-blowing building, the humanities building, and of course my building. We had lots of fun!
