Hi hi! My name is Dagbjört, and I was born and raised in Iceland. I am a trained teacher and spent 20 years working as a preschool teacher. I am also a published children's book author and currently teach Icelandic as a second language. I speak very good English and fairly good Norwegian, having lived in Norway for two and a half years. I now live in Dalvík, Iceland, with my English husband, our dog Bella Rósa, and our cat Nikita Coco.我的教學經歷
Learn and practice speaking Icelandic with me! I am patient, warm, and genuinely enjoy working with people. I have a real interest in getting to know my students and building strong, open communication with them. I place great importance on showing respect and empathy, and there is always room for a little humour along the way. 我的課程內容與教學風格
In my teaching, amongst others, I draw on techniques from language coaching, which focus on creating a flexible and personalised learning journey. My aim is to help students build confidence and develop independence as language learners. I support my students in setting achievable goals and finding learning strategies based on their interests, needs, and strengths.
I believe it is essential to create a safe and supportive environment. I understand how daunting it can feel to start speaking a new language.
I emphasise speaking and listening first, and then writing and reading, as well as practising everyday vocabulary, all carefully adapted to each student’s level, abilities, and preferences.我的教材
