Hello! I’m Dr. Marika, an English teacher, editor, and researcher with a PhD in English Literature from the University of Leeds. I’ve taught at several UK universities, including Leeds and Manchester Metropolitan, where I led seminars and workshops on topics such as African American literature, writing skills, and critical reading.
Alongside my academic work, I’ve been helping learners of English at all levels improve their confidence, writing, and communication—whether for study, work, or everyday life. As someone who has lived and studied across Europe and the UK, I understand the challenges of learning and expressing yourself in another language, and I love helping students!我的教學經歷
As a teacher, I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping my students make progress and enjoy the process. My background in university teaching has trained me to adapt to very different learning needs—from academic English and essay writing to conversational fluency and pronunciation.
I believe learning English is not just about grammar or vocabulary—it’s about developing your own confidence and curiosity. I focus on helping learners express ideas naturally, think critically, and communicate with nuance. Before we start, I take time to understand your goals—whether you want to improve academic writing, professional communication, or conversational fluency. Each lesson combines structured learning with space for reflection, practice, and authentic conversation.
I often integrate materials from literature, culture, and current events to make language learning more engaging and meaningful. For academic learners, I provide targeted guidance on writing, argumentation, and editing.
