I’m originally from Moscow, but since 2021 I’ve been living in the Netherlands — and in 2025, I moved to beautiful Finnish Lapland.
My passion for languages led me to study linguistics at university in Moscow, where I also completed a course in teaching Russian as a foreign language.
For five years, I was a proud member of the Easy Russian team, creating educational content for Russian learners on YouTube.我的教學經歷
My students often tell me they’ve never felt so confident speaking Russian as they do during our lessons — and that makes me really happy!
I believe the best way to build this kind of confidence is by not being afraid to make mistakes, while I gently correct them and help you notice patterns.
I know what it’s like to learn a foreign language — not just as a teacher, but also as a student. I speak English and Dutch (not perfectly, but I'm still learning), and right now I’m a beginner in Finnish. That helps me understand your challenges and guide you with patience and encouragement so you can speak as much as possible — because that’s what we’re here for!我的課程內容與教學風格

Co-producerTalking to people while shooting videos for Easy Russian and Easy Dutch and working with the text for subtitles helps to look at the language from learner's point of view. The way people speak Russian in real life differs a lot and I use these aspects while teaching.

Katja is a super teacher. Learning from her is effortless and uncomplicated. She explains the nuances of the language and is very patient when I forget some words. I have not yet had an hour spent with her where I did not feel I haven't 100% benefited from the lesson. I highly recommend her.

Really enjoyed my lesson with Katja! I felt super comfortable as she was very patient and attentive while I spoke. I like that she spoke Russian for the duration of the lesson and refrained from speaking in English, unless it was necessary.
