If you’re reading reviews thinking of trying Utsav, just do it. He has been my best Hindi teacher by far from several I’ve tried on italki. He is a qualified linguist with complete mastery of both English and Hindi so he can explain perfectly any questions you have. He is a skilled teacher and can easily adapt your lesson to suit your mood on-the-go. His lessons don’t feel like you’re just reading a textbook, it feels like you’re hanging out with a friend who just happens to know everything you want to learn. Been learning with Utsav for a long time now and will continue to do so. Whatever he is charging it’s worth it, if you choose someone else to save 1-2 dollars per lesson you’re missing out, he is worth it and definitely worth trying.

I really like how Utsav can switch between fun/engaging conversation, cultural/context education, and structured grammatical lessons. Often a teacher will be strong in just one of these 3 elements, but he seems to be able to play each role equally well.

His rating really speaks for itself but what I will say about Utsav based on my first lesson is that you feel like you've known him for years. Just knows how to make the lesson easy-going but effective at the same time. I can not wait for my next lesson.

Utsav is my all-time favorite Hindi teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Hindi language and knows how to teach it in a logical, step-by-step manner, while also being incredibly up-beat and fun. He gives lots of opportunity for practice both inside and outside the class, and offers cultural insights, song recommendations, and unlimited examples of how the language is used in daily conversation. I always look forward to my lessons and am confident that with Utsav's guidance I will reach my Hindi-learning goals.
