Hello, I’m Yuka! I was born in Osaka and now live in Nagano, surrounded by the Alps.
I’ve worked as a web writer for 6 years, a Pilates trainer for 10 years, and an inbound tour guide in Kobe. I’ve learned how to connect with people through language.
I’ve also lived in the U.S. to pursue dance, experiencing different cultures and perspectives. I’m learning German to talk with my partner’s family, so I know the frustration and joy of expressing yourself.
I’ve traveled to Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia. I also love exploring Japan through hiking and travel, enjoying nature and wildlife.

There are 2 reasons I became a Japanese teacher. First, when I was teaching Pilates to many international clients in Tokyo, I really enjoyed supporting them physically and mentally and connecting with people. I really love talking with people from all over the world!
And second, as a writer, I find Japanese is a very unique and beautiful language. Especially, reading and writing Japanese is my passion, so I can help you find the most natural expressions that textbooks don't teach.
My goal is to create a safe space where you can speak at ease. I'm very relaxed and always give positive feedback, so don't be afraid of making mistakes! 我的課程內容與教學風格
Having fun is the most important thing in my lesson! I’m here to support your unique goals in a calm, supportive atmosphere.
My lessons focus on "Active Speaking." During our lesson, I use Google Docs to provide gentle corrections or suggestions. I explain grammar and expressions through our natural conversation.

Yuka is a great teacher, especially if you are a complete beginner. She does not have a problem taking the lesson at your pace or repeating herself for you. I have taken another good lesson with her and though I am very new to Japanese, she knows a lot about the language beyond just being a native speaker so I recommend her for learners at any level.

Yuka is a very patient and organised teacher. She is easy to communicate with and is attentive throughout the lesson. I appreciate that she listens and is able to adapt to my needs/requests, while being structured enough to lead lessons without being prompted.
