Hi! I'm Sakura, a professional Japanese teacher from Okinawa, Japan. I've taught Japanese in Okinawa, the US, and Hungary.
I specialize in conversation practice for learners of all levels, and I also offer JLPT preparation lessons. My lessons focus on helping students naturally use Japanese in real conversations while building a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary step-by-step.
I’m from Okinawa, a beautiful island in southern Japan known for its unique culture, language, and peaceful lifestyle. I love traveling and have visited over 20 countries. I really like exploring different cultures and talking with people from all over the world. So, I'd be thrilled to share our cultures😊我的教學經歷
At university, I majored in English, studying both English and Japanese language education. Subsequently, I specialized in Japanese language pedagogy at the University of Hawaii, completing a master's degree.
Regarding my Japanese teaching experience, I worked at Japanese language schools in Okinawa, instructing learners from beginner to advanced levels in classes such as daily conversation, grammar, reading, writing, and JLPT preparation classes. Furthermore, I have experience working as a Japanese teaching assistant at universities in the US and Hungary, where I taught classes and organized Japanese cultural events. 我的課程內容與教學風格
Through these educational experiences, I place great importance on respecting each learner's background and goals, and creating a comfortable atmosphere where they feel safe to speak.
My online lessons offer four classes:
🌟“Daily Conversation,” 🌟“JLPT Preparation,” 🌟“Travel Conversation,” and 🌟“Free Talk.”
You can choose a class based on your goals and level. I’ll flexibly adjust learning content and pace according to your requests. For beginners, I’ll use English, so please do not hesitate to join. Also, please let us know if you have any specific textbooks or materials you would like to use.

Had my first lesson with 桜先生. Because speaking is my biggest flaw, I requested a free-talk lesson. She asked a lot of questions, which was an excellent exercise. She corrected my biggest mistakes whilst also letting me finish my explanations. This was perfect for staying in the flow and also learning nuances and grammar issues. 桜先生 spoke clearly and really kept the conversation going. Would definitely recommend booking lessons with her for improving your 会話 skills! Looking forward to the next lesson.

Sakura m'a directement mis en confiance et m'a beaucoup aidé dans mon apprentissage, je suis plus que motivé a reprendre des leçons avec elle pour me perfectionné. J'ai du mal avec les hiragana et donc elle fait l'effort d'écrire en Romaji et Hiragana pour que je comprenne

It was a really nice first lesson. We did a pratice JLPT exam to check what I still find difficult, which was really useful. Also Sakura先生 was patient and explained really well.
