This is was a really fun, engaging lesson and my son thoroughly enjoyed it! Eric had a very organized lesson plan and used different modalities to optimize my child's focus. My son asked for a Mandarin lesson on a whim, but now he really wants to continue. I would highly recommend Eric as a teacher for students of any age.

Today I was a little emotional in class. I hit a mental block yesterday when I tried to study and prepare for today’s class. For 2-3 hours I was stuck in my head and couldn’t focus properly because of these overwhelming negative thoughts and feelings. I chose to be vulnerable and share my experience with Wang Laoshi - my feelings of inadequacy and fears about possibly not being able to speak Mandarin well or fluently in the future. Wang Laoshi patiently listened, spoke words of life and encouragement, gave me a different perspective and said the fact that I am willing to open my mouth and speak makes me a brave person. These words touched my heart and I feel encouraged to press on with my studies! My mind is now at a place where I feel I can learn and study better! He is a gem of a person and I am forever grateful and honored to call him my teacher.

Wang Laoshi is so great at capitalizing on my interests and has a gift at making my learning a fun and enjoyable experience! I went from sharing with him that I enjoy a certain type of music and now I’m happy and actually looking forward to my homework which is learning one of my favorite songs!! He is a kind, cheerful, and wonderful teacher. he always respond quickly, and communication is easy. I really appreciate it. My daughter enjoys his lessons. I hope she continues to learn happily and make great progress!
