Hugo Carioca

Hugo is an awesome teacher whose lessons are a lot of fun. He encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and uses creative approaches to help my Portuguese sound more natural such as teaching me slang and colloquialisms as well as having me sing along to Brazilian music. Hugo will definitely help you understand Brazilians and improve your communication.

I’m SO glad that I came across Hugo as I was searching for a Portuguese tutor! It was meant to be. I could tell from his profile that he is very dedicated to his students accomplishing their goals. And I was right! Not only is he a great tutor, he has a positive energy and enthusiasm for each class. It has been an enjoyable experience learning Portuguese with Hugo and I will continue my lessons until my trip to Rio de Janeiro. He has helped me a lot with my pronunciation and accent. I really like how he incorporates slang and culture into our lessons. I feel like I have a personalized lesson because Hugo customizes our lessons based on my interests and what I need the most help on.
