My name is Vendy and I live in Prague. Besides being a teacher, I’m also a translator – I translate from French and Spanish. You can also see me on YouTube - just tap "slowczech" in the search bar. I first started teaching Czech in 2018 at the university of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Do you know what I love the most about my job? It’s the fact that I can meet a lot of interesting people that I wouldn’t meet otherwise and learn something about their lives. I’ve taught Czech to a political scientist, an engineer from a chocolate factory, a designer, an architect, a truck driver…

It's important for me to know why you're learning Czech. Do you live in Czechia and you need to communicate with your neighbours or at the doctor’s office? Do you have a Czech partner and you need to talk with their family? Do you need Czech for work? What’s your story? Together, we will figure out what your ideal lesson should look like. My goal is for me to speak just a little and for you to speak a lot. :)我的課程內容與教學風格
No worries, lessons with me aren’t monotonous and I can offer you a well-balanced mixture of spontaneous talking, grammar, culture, reading, images, articles from Czech press and so on – it’s up to you. My clients told me that I’m good at making them feel confident when speaking Czech, they’re not scared of making mistakes anymore and can freely discuss various daily topics. We’ll have a shared Google document where I’ll write the vocabulary we’ll be going through during the lesson but most importantly, we’ll talk a lot. Homework assignments are optional, I’ll encourage you to do them if you wish so but I will not force you to. We’re both adults and you know best what works for you.我的教材

Vendy is a very kind and patient teacher. She is also well prepared and responsive to my requests. I asked her to help me better understand the Czech political system and she created a very helpful lesson. She even gave me a video to watch and a few articles to read after the lesson.
