Hello! My name is Jennifer and I'm from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I am currently an English instructor for university students at the University of Lille in France. I've been teaching English to non-native speakers since 2017, and I have been tutoring on Italki (off and on) since 2020. I am a linguist and am working toward a PhD in French Linguistics from Indiana University. My interests include linguistics, geography, international affairs, politics, art, history, and Netflix dramas. I love learning and discussing anything and everything!我的教學經歷
As a linguist, I can give students linguistic explanations for specific issues they may have with pronunciation or grammar. Every student has their own set of goals for learning English, so I like to build lessons around each student's personal objectives. Whether you just want to practice speaking or have more specific linguistic questions, I look forward to chatting with you.我的課程內容與教學風格
My lessons are highly individualized for each student. Some students prefer rigorous lessons and homework assignments, while others simply want to chat and learn new expressions. I generally ask students what they would like to focus on during their first lesson, then come up with a personalized plan based on their needs. Depending on the student's needs, we can use YouTube videos, book excerpts, news articles, TV shows, and any other materials that interest them to improve their command of the language. I also know of many online language learning resources that I can share with students, as I have spent years studying languages on my own (such as French, Arabic, and Welsh).我的教材
