My lesson with Yasu went well. It was also a reminder of why (in my opinion) it is so important to work with a competent native speaker. I know that many websites say you can learn a language all by yourself. But, I don't think that is true. I think you need a skilled teacher like Yasu. He has been very, very helpful to my learning/understanding of Japanese.

Excellent class! Today, we worked on 〜てください and how to conjugate the verbs to create sentences. I appreciate his gentle corrections and his patience while I try to pronounce various words in a natural manner, especially ください。I tend to rush my pronunciation, and leave out sounds, so I am grateful for this class. I will continue to practice until I can say it perfectly. I am determined! :) ありがとうございました　やすせんせい！

First Japanese pronunciation lesson with Yasu. This is a tough subject for non-native students of Japanese,so I think finding the right teacher for you is very important . To me, Yasu comes across as a nice person with a genuine will to help. He is knowledgeable about the subject matter and his teaching method is effective.

1st class. Have you ever watched YouTube videos of a Japanese guy nitpicking foreigners' Japanese in a friendly way. It was like that which is what I was looking for. Almost all Japanese speakers tell foreigners that their Japanese is fantastic, which is really nice, but doesn't help us improve. So doing the pronunciation lesson with Yasu sensei was time extremely well spent in my quest to sound better. Thank you!

I had my second lesson with Yasu-san today, and it went great! He helped me pick out more of the pronunciation and accent mistakes/habits I've built up over time and we practiced correcting them together. I learned a lot in my first lesson, and in my second one, I feel like I doubled that. His feedback has made me way more conscious of my own pronunciation and accent and helps me hear the differences between my own speech and that of native speakers.

I had a trial lesson today with Yasu, and it went super well. I want to improve my pronunciation/accent and generally improve my Japanese speaking, and Yasu pointed out a number of specific points to work on. It was very enlightening, and he also had me drill and practice many times, explaining where to position my tongue and how to move my mouth. We also did some pitch accent practice, which is of interest to me. It was an excellent lesson, and I genuinely learned a lot in the span of just an hour -- I'm excited for our next lesson.
