Hello, I’m Momo! I was born and raised in Japan and now live in Hawaii after spending 4 years in Australia and 2 years in San Francisco. Besides working as an online Japanese teacher, I’m a special program teacher at an elementary school, where I teach STEM LEGO, cooking (Japanese, Hawaiian, and Western food), photography, and Pokémon card language.
I love traveling, experiencing new cultures, surfing, working out, and meeting new people. My classes are fun, safe spaces to learn, make mistakes, and grow. I focus on creating a high-energy, productive environment tailored to your goals, whether you’re learning Japanese language or culture.我的教學經歷
I’m passionate about helping students achieve their Japanese language goals. Whether you’re a beginner or want to refine your skills, I offer personalized lessons to fit your needs.
As a non-native English speaker, I understand how easy it is to make mistakes without noticing them. That’s why I focus on correcting all your errors—big or small—something you won’t often get in casual conversations.

Lesson Focus:
• Develop conversational skills in both formal and informal Japanese.
• Work with textbooks like Genki (or your preferred choice).
• Improve reading, writing, and Kanji comprehension (Hiragana and Katakana).
Post-Lesson Support:
• Feel free to message me with any questions.
• I provide notes during lessons for reference and review.
• If needed, I can assign homework or tests to reinforce learning.

Another fantastic lesson with Momo-san! I always get plenty of listening and speaking practice in her lessons without fear of making mistakes or being judge. We laugh together when I mix up words or get expressions wrong. Momo-san is always patient and easy to talk to no matter what the subject. We always chat about anything and everything. I would highly recommend anyone who's starting out learning Japanese or an advance speaker to try taking lessons from her.

WOW. What an eye-opener! I really appreciated Momo's help in navigating how to better interact with my Japanese in-laws! She went into details on customs, greetings and tips on how to impress them! As helpful as her language lessons were, I think this was incredibly helpful in a different way!

Before I was too nervous when speaking and had problems expressing myself in Japanese, but now I have learned to relax.
