Lisa Smevige

Having had more than 30 lessons at this point, I can safely say that I hit the jackpot with Lisa. I chose Lisa because she had to learn a language herself in order to study medicine abroad, and it shows because she knows what to do. I've learned other languages before with teachers that had degrees and other qualifications and yet were terrible at their jobs. Lisa pushes you out of your comfort zone just enough so that you learn and have fun at the same time. She has an incredible talent for figuring out what your level is and adjusting the way she's talking so that it's understandable enough but not too easy either. She will challenge and debate you while never being in conflict with you and still make the lesson fun (though to be fair I believe most Swedes are good at that ;) ). Lastly, I've never met someone that patient. She is so patient that it makes me question my own patience after every lesson. Recommend 100%

Lisa provided a great introductory class. She was easy to talk to and made me feel very comfortable despite my introductory level of Swedish. Will definitely book another lesson.

I’ve had over 10 lessons with Lisa at this point and have genuinely been able to see a difference in how well I speak, read, and hear Swedish. Lisa is an amazing teacher, provides great resources and feedback, and really creates an environment where I don’t feel embarrassed for messing up or not knowing something. I’m so thankful for her and highly recommend her as a teacher!
