Hi! I’m Andy — a language teacher since 2001 with 12,000+ online lessons, helping beginners become confident speakers.
I’m of Irish descent ☘️, and in my family English has always been the language we speak at home, with a strong tradition of storytelling, humor, and great conversation.
My lessons are relaxed, patient, and conversation-driven, so you start speaking from Day 1 and build confidence naturally.

As a teacher, my goal is to help you speak with confidence while making clear progress in a structured and organized way. I believe languages are best learned through real conversation, supported by a clear learning plan.
In our first lesson, I evaluate your level and learn about your goals. Then we create a learning path so you always know what you’re learning and which level you’re reaching.
Sometimes a quick explanation in a familiar language helps, so I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German, and I’m currently improving my French. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges my students face.
All levels welcome, especially beginners.

Fantastic, it's been a few months since starting with Andy. I can now communicate in a good enough level of spanish to be understood (more or less) and watch some videos on YouTube (which would have been incomprehensible at the start of this year) and get the gist of what is being said. Learning a language is a messy process for your brain but it's something that I've been enjoying - especially with Andy as he has an excellent cadence to his lessons, he knows exactly when to stay and chat and when to move the focus back onto class materials. I can whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone (Spanish or English) no matter your level with the language.
