I'm Native English, living in the UK.
I have over 25 years of experience teaching English in British schools: Private, Primary and Secondary.
I've been teaching full time on Italki for over 6 years, since 2018.
I have taught over 6,000 lessons.
Many of my students re-book lessons with me for 3-4 years because I am an excellent teacher.
I teach Monday to Friday, GMT time 08.00 to 13.00, 16.00-18.00, sometimes longer.
I can also teach English to adults (I have a CELTA qualification).
I live on a Narrowboat with my husband and two dogs, Max and Otto.我的教學經歷

Early Phonics and reading skills

Celta - Cambridge - 20191 month intensive course. This included all elements of teaching EAL. Since achieving my CELTA I have been teaching EAL to students including test preparation for all Cambridge Exams including A2, B1, B2 and IELTS. I feel that this along with my British teacher degree and over 25 years of teaching experience more than qualifies me as a teacher able to offer test preparation lessons on italki. Batchelor of Education - Cambridge University - 19974 year degree level training at university including extensive teaching practices within the 4 years. During teaching practice we learnt about tests and exams and carried these out with students, taught them the syllabus, marked the practice papers and in some cases marked and graded the papers too. I was a teacher in British schools for 18 years up until 2018 so I have extensive experience and knowledge of preparing children for all English exams: 11+, 13 + ISEB. SATS. IGCSE English.

This included preparing students for 11+, 13+ and scholarship exams to secondary schools. Teaching grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, listening and drama. I taught using the British National Curriculum. I have directed many school plays including Shakespeare. I have experience of teaching children from the ages of 5 to 16.

I travel to the school and watch them perform practiced speaking and listening pieces (poems, prose, speeches, debates, book readings). I then assess their ability against a set criteria, write individual reports, and decide if they have passed or failed. The English Speaking Board is a British examining board for Speaking and Listening skills.

Ms Pauline is a wonderful tutor. She is very caring and tries to adapt to the student’s English levels. Every lesson, she greets my child energetically and tells her the lesson aims. If there is something my child does not understand or struggles with, Ms Pauline teaches her patiently.
