Ángeles

I always enjoy having a conversation with Ángeles. It’s like chatting with a friend even while I’m learning. Today we focused on some nuances of the language and phrases that don’t typically get taught in textbooks or lessons. It was so interesting comparing them to English. Although Ángeles doesn’t share it if a student’s not interested, she is fascinated by linguistics and how things are said in different cultures, which is a good fit for me. I like the cultural exchange we can have via language practice.

Ángeles is such an amazing, fun and dynamic teacher. I was hesitant in taking classes at first because I wanted to learn the language all by myself. But then I knew I made the right choice. Ángeles not only taught me Spanish for 3 months, but she also made me feel understood. She said the right words every time I doubted myself. I love her human approach and I really believe she is meant for teaching. It was also particularly important for me to learn both Argentinian Spanish and Spanish from Spain as I wanted to communicate with my Argentinian family in law, but at the same time I was also planning to move to Spain. Before taking the classes, it felt all so confusing and complicated. Ángeles dedicated time to explain it and integrated it seamlessly in our lessons. Now I can juggle between the two and adapt my Spanish depending on who’s my interlocutor! In addition to that, I just passed the B2 SIELE exam and I am now moving to Spain. Thank you Ángeles, you helped my dreams come true!

Working with Ángeles is a slow, subtle process of refining and enhancing my skills in the midst of enjoyable conversation. As time goes on, things become more natural. I know this is due to her training and experience, but it just feels like chatting with a friend.

Ich habe ungefähr ein Jahr selbst Spanisch gelernt und mich dann entschlossen, mit dem Sprechen zu beginnen und meinen ersten Konversationskurs bei Ángeles gebucht. Ich kann nur sagen, dass Ángeles wirklich die richtige Wahl hierfür war! Sie ist immer fröhlich und temperamentvoll, sie ermutigt und ich freue mich immer wieder auf das nächste Gespräch. Ein großes Plus ist das professionelle feedback. Sie protokolliert viel mit und wenn ich z.B. Fragen zur Grammatik habe, bekomme ich fundierte Erklärungen. Wir sprechen über viele unterschiedliche Themen, wobei sie sehr engagiert ist. Ich lasse mir seit einer Weile Übungsaufgaben geben. Ángeles bezieht diese Aufgaben auf die aktuellen Gespräche, was sehr hilfreich ist. Ich kann auch Studienmaterial und Tipps in Form von Videos oder Artikeln zum Lesen bekommen. Ich fühle, wie ich beim Sprechen sicherer werde. Ich kann Ángeles wirklich sehr empfehlen!

Angeles is always encouraging, but today she could see I wasn’t speaking as well as usual, and she was right there to support me. Lessons are a pleasure, every time.

I always enjoy conversation practice with Ángeles. Current focuses of work are the use of the tenses of the subjunctive and agreement of various parts of speech, but it comes up naturally in conversation. I do most of my grammar and vocabulary learning elsewhere, and Angeles helps me incorporate it into my conversations.
