My name is Alex - I am an Accent, Pronunciation and Business Communication Coach.
Are you tired of people asking you to repeat yourself?
Clear speech will help set you apart from others, and will ensure that people listen to what you say, not how you say it - meaning better career prospects.
When working with me you will understand how to use your voice for different situations, how to manipulate the voice to improve your clarity, how to rise and fall when speaking to give you a more natural intonation and rhythm.

My lessons are interactive and I keep you talking so that you can maximise your practice, I have a positive attitude - practice is the most important thing when learning, not just theory!

Compton P-ESL Accent Modification Method - Institute of Language and Phonology - 2020The institute of Language and Phonology was established by Dr. Arthur J. Compton (Ph.D) - who established a method for teaching Accent Modification to speakers of other languages. The Institute of Language and Phonology now offers teacher training so that professionals such as ESL teachers and Speech Language Pathologists alike can deliver effective Accent Modification instruction and thus add a unique skill to their credentials. I recently completed my training and have attached my certificate.

Cambridge CELTA - York St. John University - 2017For this certificate I had to undertake 120 hours of study and both group and individual work that included formal assessment of my English teaching capabilities. During this course I learned how to teach all aspects of English (in the context of foreign language teaching) to a professional standard, whilst also acquiring other useful skills such as classroom management, lesson planning and content creation. It was a thorough course that taught me what I needed in order to enter the industry.

學士學位 - Geology - Upper Second Class Honours (2:1)My high school studies included all the normal subjects but I also studied Spanish and French, during my school days I was exposed to new languages through exchange students who helped me to develop my aptitude for languages and pronunciation skills. At Sixth form college I studied Russian Language at GCSE level and attained an A* grade. At university I studied Geology but my interactions with speakers of other languages continued while I studied.

2017 - 2018
English TeacherStudents are essentially clients, they expect a service and want results. This was delivered on every occasion with all students I was responsible for passing every exam with average results of a high percentage. This high average reflected my ability to adapt to students’ needs and unlock and maximise their potential. Key duties included, language analysis, exam marking with short deadlines, advising students, directing and invigilating examinations and delivering prompt and concise feedback.
2019 - 2020
English TeacherAt AUA Language Center I have further developed my teaching skills and have engaged in ongoing professional development programmes as provided by the company. Whilst working in Thailand I have developed different skills to those required in Spain - for example modelling activities using little to no explanation at all. Additionally, I have led workshops in pronunciation and delivered private instruction of pronunciation to business people and other highly motivated students.
