🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 LGBTQA+ Friendly! *TOEFL / IELTS /Duolingo prep!* *Individual lessons for students ages 13 and up!* My name is Katie and I am from the United States of America! I have a diploma in English Language Teaching and TOEFL test preparation, and I have 8 years of experience teaching English in Mexico. I love learning about other cultures and languages, science, history, and the social sciences. I am also raising my son to speak English and Spanish. I enjoy talking with my students about their countries, cultures, and interests! Feel free to share with me as you improve your English!
For the past six years, I have been a private tutor for adolescents and adults in Mexico for the past 8 years. :) I have experience teaching in a public school as well as a private language learning academy in Chiapas. In addition, I have taught at the Universidad Internacional del Conocimiento e Investigación (University of Knowledge and Research) in Tapachula, Mexico. I have also taught English online for about 6 years.
I prioritize fun in my classes! I strive to motivate my students and encourage progress. Do not be afraid to make mistakes! My lessons center around conversational practice so that you can learn as much as possible and use what you are learning. Katie is an awesome teacher! She brings so much energy and enthusiasm into her classes, making them super engaging. Her homework assignments are actually interesting and even funny sometimes, not your usual typical assignments. During our classes, we either go over the assignments together or just chat. I've learned a bunch of new words, verbs, and cool idioms from her. My speaking skills have improved a lot, thanks to her!
