I am a Beverlie from England, UK. I love travelling, being active and meeting new people. I am an active outdoor person (when I'm not being lazy) and love hiking, running, swimming and generally being outdoors in nature. I love talking and my favourite topics of conversation are travel, current affairs, environment, psychology and well-being.
I studied psychology at University and have a keen interest in this area. After university, I went on to train as a teacher and worked in highschools before switching to a career online.我的教學經歷
I have been teaching for 15 years now. I have taught in high schools, institutions, and online. I have experience working with all levels of students, from advanced to beginner. I have extensive experience working with young children from the age of 4. Additionally, for the last 2 years I have specialised in adult teaching, focusing on improving speaking and listening skills. Furthermore, I have experience supporting students preparing for the IETLS and Cambridge exams.
I believe in dynamic learning and will not only focus on grammar but will help you to develop your speaking confidence, listening skills, pronunciation and more.我的課程內容與教學風格
I am an adaptive and flexible teacher. I will quickly assess your level and individual needs and adapt our lessons to ensure you or your child meet your full learning potential as quickly as possible. All courses come with all material provided, including PDF, PPT, text, videos and audio. I will design a personalised lesson plan and learning trajectory to suit your learning needs. For Kids lessons, we will work with interactive presentations, videos and stories to ensure your child starts speaking and using the language from their first lesson. For IELTS I use specially designed material that is drawn from Cambridge materials. All lessons come with homework tasks if students desire these.我的教材

2021 - 2024
TeacherI have been a teacher on Italki since 2021. Here on Italki I specialise in 3 main areas. 1: Improving conversation skills in adults, we do this by talking in-depth about complex topics such as environment, psychology and society. 2: Kids classes, where I will work with your child to ensure they find English fun and engaging to allow them to improve rapidly. 3: Exam preparation, I can help you prepare for IELTS or Cambridge exams.
2019 - 2021
Teacher and Teacher evaluatorI worked for Whales English for 2 years. My main role was as an ESL teacher for young learners from the age of 4 up to 14. I also evaluated teacher classes and gave feedback and advice on how to further improve their classes. This experience allowed me to specialise in teaching young learners and understand the best methods to teach English in a fun and engaging manner.
2017 - 2019
TeacherI worked for this institution as an ESL teacher teaching adults business English. I taught small groups in person, ranging from 6 adults up to 10. I also took one-to-one sessions with students preparing for their IELTS exams.

Volunteer TeacherI was a volunteer English teacher working in secondary schools. This was a project organised by the charity Heart for Change and the Ministry of Education in Colombia. I designed and delivered English classes to groups, of up to 30, teenagers.

Teacher and Head of DepartmentI worked at this secondary school in the UK for 7 years as a Mathematics teacher. In 2013 I became head of maths for the school and led a team of 10 maths teachers and implemented whole school numeracy strategies. I’ve been taking lessons with Beverlie since June 2024, and it was the best decision I’ve made.
Beverlie is very patient and attentive—though also a bit picky, which is great! Her detailed approach really supports my development.
I haven’t reached all my goals yet, but my progress is clear and noticeable.
