I am a licensed professional Japanese teacher who has been teaching Japanese to the student (4 years old〜) in English for 4 years.
As a teacher I am very fun, supportive and patient. I focus on every student 100% so I can make the best lessons for YOU!
I speak a standard Japanese, and I can adjust the way I speak in your level. Even if you are a beginner,I will use beginner friendly grammar so we will be able to talk in Japanese even if you don’t know much.
You never need to be afraid of making mistakes in my class:)
Additionally, since I speak Japanese and English fluently, you can ask me any questions in both languages.

For the beginners / intermediates;
Using GENKI textbook or TOBIRA textbook, we will practice using the grammar in the conversation. In addition to that we will do roll-play practice, translation practice, and so on from the grammar you will have learned.
For conversation-based lessons;
We can relax and talk about anything like you talk to your friends but in Japanese with my correction and explanation of words and grammar that you don’t understand. We can also decide a topic before the lessons, so that you can be prepared and confident:)

I recently had my first Japanese lesson on italki with Shun, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with his teaching skills. Shun was able to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment that made it easy for me to ask questions and participate in the lesson. His teaching style was both effective and patient, and he was able to tailor the lesson to my specific needs and skill level. I appreciated how he focused on both grammar and conversational skills, which helped me to make progress quickly. We are learning more vocabulary and verbs plus conjugations begins tomorrow. I am so happy i can cry . I am greatly looking forward to this lesson . And as usual the teacher always seems to know the best pace for me and method of conveying the teachings!!! I thank Shunsuke for every lesson as i am constantly being driven closer to one of my greatest dreams.

Great first lesson, clear well laid out plan for future lessons with a structured assessment of my current level against Genki that was undertaken very casually but thoroughly. Overall a very friendly conversation with gentle nudging in the right direction with tenses and vocabulary too.

Amazing class! Shunsuke 先生 knew accurately where my level was based on my self studying of a specific Genki chapter and targeted/reinforced my weak areas. He did a great job fine tuning the class to my needs. He also seems very flexible in switching the style of the class from a conversational type to a more traditional classroom type if you would like him to explain things in a deeper level. His podcasts are also a gem as they reflect the grammar and vocabulary of the Genki textbook. I will definitely consider taking classes from him on a regular basis!

Just had a lovely, first conversation with Shun-san. Shun-san is at least as inspiring in person as he is in his videos and podcasts. Very helpful and fun conversation.
