Carmen

Great lesson with Carmen! Carmen told me about a trip that she went on recently to a school. Her story was very interesting to hear the differences in city schools vs. country schools in China. We read through the sentences that we made to wrap up the lesson. There were a few words that I got stuck on, but Carmen helped me. Carmen does a nice job of reviewing the lesson, it really helps!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about holidays and vacations in China. Carmen told me about "Tomb sweeping day" in China and how it is changing. At the end of class, Carmen had me repeat what we learned to be sure that I had a good pronunciation. It was interesting to learn from Carmen about the holidays and get a better understanding of Chinese culture!

Great lesson with Carmen! Carmen told me about her recent experience visiting a trending food stall, waiting in line for a long time, how the food tasted, etc. After that, we practiced pronunciation and Carmen helped me fix my mistakes. This is really helpful because pronunciation and tones are so important. Carmen does a nice job of explaining when the characters are different from the characters in Mandarin!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about the lunar new year, and Carmen told me about what activities she did. We also talked about different food and movies. To finish the lesson, we reviewed the lesson material and Carmen helped me with words that I didn't remember or pronounced incorrectly. It was fun to learn about the things that people do for the new year and to talk about movies. I also really like how we wrap up the lesson with a review!
